Where modern art stays unfinished.

Meridian Contemporary is an independent gallery for painting, sculpture and moving image. Four floors of rotating exhibitions, forty-two represented artists, and a viewing room built for slow looking.

The Gallery

A room designed around the work — never the other way around.

We took a 1920s iron foundry and kept almost everything: the concrete, the overhead gantries, the north light. What we added are four galleries, a print room and a courtyard café, all steps from the river.

  • Twelve exhibitions a year — a new hang in every hall, every ten weeks.
  • Free admission, always. Ticketed previews and private viewings on request.
  • Artist-led talks every Thursday evening, recorded and archived online.

What's On

Three shows, three rooms, one afternoon.

Every season we pair a solo presentation with a group show and something from the archive, so there is always more than one way through the building.
